When applying for my third-cycle studies I wrote a research proposal. Before the interview took place I got an assignment. I should prepare a 10 minute long presentation of how I would like to position my suggested research in relation to nursing. Challenging! Anyway, I came up with an idea that built on a fictive case. The purpose of the case was to evoke emotions (patos). At first I felt that this was a too nonacademic way of untangle my task, so I hesitated. Finally, I decided to leave the doubts out, be true to myself, and embrace my gut feeling, so I made this video about Olivia. After showing it I had 5 minutes left, which I tried to make use of by arguing logically and by connecting the case to nursing theories (logos). Apparently, I did something right (etos) since I got accepted.
